Kehillat Beijing

Founded in 1979, the Kehillat Beijing Foundation supports Jewish life in Beijing, around China, and across the world. We host Shabbat services and dinner each and every Friday night beginning at 7:00pm, in addition to a range of holiday celebrations, educational opportunities, and community retreats and excursions into one of the world's greatest cities.

Kehillat Shabbat Dinners Depend on You!

Each and every week, we gather for Shabbat services and dinner at the Capital Club. It's the one thing we've always done, and everyone knows exactly where it'll be, no matter how many years they've been away from their home in Beijing. We're there so that travelers, students, regulars, and ol' timers can all have a place to go on Friday nights.

To make that happen and make sure that everyone can participate, Kehillat subsidizes 30% of the cost of Shabbat meals. We do this to make sure that anyone who wants to eat with us can join in (which we, and hopefully everyone who joins us, loves!). Unfortunately, membership dues do not fully cover these expenses. This year, we anticipate a budget gap of $7,000

In response, a generous group of donors spearheaded by Stacy Palestrant has offered to match dollar for dollar every donation made by the end of June up to a cap of $3,500. The best news? If we unlock the full match, we will have raised enough to cover 100% of  Kehillat's projected 2014 expenses for Shabbat meal subsidies. No gift is too small!

Give $1. Give $10, or $100 - any amount you can give will help to support our community, and give us the room to be even greater, and plan even better events for the coming year.

Be a part of it! Give online at sinogogue.org or just bring your RMB cash donation withyou to services any time this month. And if the joy and satisfaction of supporting our community isn't enough, then remember that it's also tax deductible for all U.S. Citizens!
