Who is a Jew? How to pin down Jewish identity

Bio: Prior to receiving rabbinic ordination from the Leo Baeck College in London, Rabbi Fred Morgan taught Religious Studies at the University of Bristol. He worked with Jewish communities in Britain and Europe for several years before migrating to Australia in 1997. He served as Senior Rabbi at Temple Beth Israel in Melbourne for 16 years and was made Emeritus Rabbi in 2013. 

He has also held the roles of Movement Rabbi for the Union for Progressive Judaism in Australasia and Professorial Fellow at the Australian Catholic University. Rabbi Morgan is married with three children and three grandchildren.
