Dan Kohane is a U.S.-born musician based in Ubud, Bali. Raised attending the Reform synagogue Temple Emeth in New Jersey, he now serves in Kehilat B’nei Hof Bali as cantor and songleader, as well as being part of the leadership team.
Dan is the music director of Paradiso Ubud, a major cultural center and all-vegan cinema. He has years of experience as a songleader for children, most currently for Camps Airy and Louise in Maryland.
He comes from a family of musicians, and holds a Masters’ degree in classical composition from the Eastman School of Music. Bali’s traditional music, gamelan, is what first drew him there in September of 2016.
